Nvidia has introduced the Open Agent Safety Platform, a set of tools designed to prevent AI agents from exceeding their designated limits. The platform consists of two parts: OpenShell, a free and open-source software that traces and enforces rules for AI agents, and Sentry, a reference design for a watchdog chip that can cut off an agent within milliseconds if it violates its rules. With over 100 companies, including Anthropic, Microsoft, and SpaceXAI, already on board, Nvidia aims to place a watchdog chip next to every AI agent to ensure safe and controlled operation, addressing recent incidents of AI agents going rogue.
